About Widnes Wild
Widnes Wild is an ice hockey club based at the Planet Ice rink in Widnes in the North West of England.
​
The Wild senior men’s team play in the National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) under the auspices of the
English Ice Hockey Association (EIHA).
​
The club was founded in 2013 and, since that time, has won the following honours:
2018/19: Laidler Division League Champions
2017, 2018 & 2019: Laidler Play Off Champions
2021: North 21 Cup Winners
2021: Division 1 National Champions
2022: Moralee Cup Winners
​
The Wild club also has a Ladies team who play in the Women’s National Ice Hockey league (WNIHL)
and who were Division 1 North champions in the 2019/20 season.
The Wild Junior Academy operates teams at Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18
competition levels and also offers “Learn to Play” and “Hockey Excellence” courses for beginners and
improvers of all ages.
