The YKK sponsored Widnes Wild are pleased to announce the signing of Thomas Barry for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
The Sheffield born player has a huge amount of experience having played over 170 games at EPL level for his native Steeldogs and spent the past two seasons in the National Division, most recently with Peterborough Phantoms.
Barry has played for the Wild in two spells before. He played 10 games in the Laidler Division back in the 2014/15 season, scoring 3 assists, and was then part of the highly successful 2021 team that won the North 21 Cup and Division 1 National Championship where he scored 3 goals and 6 assists in 14 games.
Talking about his return to Widnes, Barry said: "I’m happy to be back in the black and gold and can’t wait to get in and win some silverware."
Wild coach Richard Haggar said of Barry:
"Tom is no stranger to Widnes playing most recently in the Covid cup for us, he is returning with over 100 games at national level. His experience at that level will be invaluable as we look to build on our recent results."
"Baz is a young quality puck carrying defenceman with bags of talent, who isn’t afraid to put his body on the line, who will lead by example and from the front giving 100% each and every game. I am looking forward to seeing him lead the line for us and show what he is capable of for the remainder of the season."
Tom Barry’s home, away and warm up shirts are available to “own and loan” at cost of £80.00 per shirt for the season.
