The YKK sponsored Widnes Wild are pleased to announce the return of forward Josh Reynolds for the forthcoming 2022/23 NIHL season.
Reynolds joined the Wild on signing deadline day at the end of January last season on a 2-way arrangement with Laidler Division team Bradford Bulldogs and made his first appearance in Widnes colours in the home game against Solihull Barons. He made an instant impact in the 6-4 win, scoring the first goal of the match and went on to be named MVP.
He played 12 games overall for Widnes last season, scoring 1 goal, 3 assists and getting 2 penalty minutes while for the Bulldogs he scored 12+18 in 24 matches.
Despite being only 20 years old, Reynolds already has significant NIHL experience, having played for the Billingham Stars in the Moralee Division for two seasons. As a former Teesside junior, he has also played over 150 competitive junior matches and made Conference appearances at every age level.
Commenting on this return to the Wild, Reynolds said:
“With only being with the Wild for a few games last season, I’m eager for a full season with the team. I’m excited to be back on the ice with the lads and looking forward to playing on home ice with the Widnes fans behind us.”
Wild player coach Richard Haggar said of Reynolds:
“Josh came in half way through the season and made an instant impact. He is another one of our young group who possesses a lot of skill, determination and speed. Josh is a dynamic player and can put the puck in the net too which I would like to see him do on a regular basis this year. Making the step up to the Wild full time this year is his chance to show that potential he holds and take his game to the next level.”
Josh Reynolds will once again wear the number 23 shirt and his home, away and warm up shirts are available to “own and loan” at a cost of £80.00 per shirt for the season.
